Disability Benefits (PIP)
People receiving Personal Independence Payment (PIP), a benefit for the extra costs of disability or long-term ill health, in England and Wales; Scotland runs its own Adult Disability Payment. It is paid whether or not someone works. When the caseload rises, more people qualify for disability support; when it falls, fewer do, or the tests have tightened.
