Gilt Yields vs Base Rate
Government borrowing costs set against the Bank of England's base rate. Normally the two move together, gilt yields sitting just above the rate the Bank sets. When the gap widens, markets are charging the government more than the Bank's rate alone would explain, a sign they trust the central bank but not the government's finances.
