Long-Term Borrowing Rate
The interest rate the government pays to borrow for twenty years, the longest gilt the Bank of England publishes. Long rates answer to the deficit and to inflation expectations rather than to the next rate decision, so they move on the public finances more than on the Bank. When this sits above the ten-year, markets are charging more to lend for longer.
